The Role
As SCADA Technical Manager, you’ll play a critical role in the operational readiness and long-term performance of the offshore wind farm. You will take ownership of the setup, integration, and management of SCADA, OT/IT, and cybersecurity systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and securely across all wind farm assets. You will solve complex technical challenges involving system interfaces, data analysis, and remote monitoring, while also supporting real-time operations and long-term maintenance strategies. You will be a key technical lead, collaborating closely with internal teams, service providers, and contractors to deliver high-performance digital infrastructure essential for safe and optimized offshore wind operations.
What You Will Do
- Manage and optimize the offshore wind farm’s SCADA, OT/IT systems, and cybersecurity platform
- Lead integration of technical systems, interfaces, and data analytics for monitoring and root cause analysis
- Oversee daily monitoring of WTG, substation, cable infrastructure, and cloud-based SCADA systems
- Maintain and manage the computerized maintenance and document management systems
- Act as the primary technical contact for SCADA, IT, and telecommunication issues
- Review and provide input on technical proposals and SCADA design documents
- Ensure cybersecurity compliance and support the implementation of ISMS processes
- Coordinate with suppliers and contractors for system improvements and issue resolution
- Plan and manage SCADA-related O&M activities and budgets
- Facilitate training and ensure best practices in the use of CMMS/DMS and technical tools
What We Are Looking For
Bringing the following skills and qualities will help you excel in this role:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Telecommunications, or Control Engineering (or equivalent)
- Fluent in English and Chinese (written and verbal)
- At least 10 years of total work experience, with 2+ years in offshore wind, oil & gas, or electrical transmission
- At least 2 years’ experience with SCADA systems, either in design or operational use
- Strong knowledge of electrical safety rules and systems
- Solid understanding of wind farm assets: turbines, grid, substations, cables, and their commercial impacts
- Ability to implement and maintain LAN/WAN solutions (switches, routers, firewalls, VPN, VLANs, Wi-Fi)
- Experience administering Windows Server environments (DNS, DHCP, AD, Group Policy, etc.)
- Proficiency with technical standards, specifications, regulations, and data management
- Strong communication and presentation skills; able to represent company interests in meetings
- Proven experience in vendor coordination and supplier management
- Professional, organized, independent, and self-driven with a solution-oriented mindset
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and a willingness to adopt internal tools
- Experience in HSE-critical environments and promoting safety culture during operational setup
- Desirable certifications: ISO/IEC 27001 ISMS Auditor/Lead Auditor, CCNA, CISSP, SSCP, CompTIA Security+, CEH, ISA/IEC 62443
- Familiarity with: Power SCADA (e.g. Ecostruxure, WinCC OA), PLCs (e.g. S7-1500, ET200SP), IBM Maximo, Microsoft SQL, PowerBI
- Knowledge of communication protocols (MODBUS, IEC61850, OPC-UA, etc.) and network/firewall tools (Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto)
- Experience with IT hardware (servers, rack cabinets), high-voltage systems, and cybersecurity in SCADA environments
- Understanding of security standards (ISO27001, IEC62443, NERC-CIP)
