Offshore lease areas in the US are enormous. However, current offshore wind lease areas on the East Coast look relatively small compared to Oil & Gas activities in the Gulf of Mexico.
After all, the onshore footprint of offshore wind, including the transmission infrastructure, is also significantly smaller than the one of pipelines and refineries for Oil & Gas activities.
