The Role
We are looking for a local Korean citizen to become our Permit Specialist who will be working full-time as part of an offshore wind farm project. Joining our team, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance with applicable laws and guidelines in order for the project to continue further. Moreover, you will liaise with authorities and project interfaces, and track the consent release process.
What You Will Do
- Responsible for preparing all applications for development consents, authorizations and approvals according to applicable law and guidelines, including use of external planning lawyers
- Define and manage the delivery of consent application documents to authorities, ensuring required inputs are included from the Project development, EPC, O&M and other project interfaces
- Responsible for keeping updated on all planning and consenting policy, guidance, and key stakeholder initiatives and representing the project’s interest within those initiatives.
- Provide application and consent risks to risk register
- Anticipate the processes preparation and achieve responsibilities within the planning frame
- Communicate, report, and exchange information with the authorities on applications as directed by the Project Development Manager
- Manage and regularly update a consent register with an overview of all consents, conditions, and obligations; record all correspondence and approvals from consenting stakeholders
- Track the consent release process/ permission to construct under the various consents and authorities. Record proof of consent compliance in consent register
- Ensure the program for pre-construction consent release is communicated to the project and kept up to date
- Monitor and record how any requirements from authorities are incorporated into the construction project
- Prepare input to the handover to O&M outlining all consents; specific conditions, obligations, records of authority correspondence, and approvals to consent conditions
- Follow up on questions, conditions, deviations, and any critical topics within the project resulting in relation to the release process and any other technical topics
What We Are Looking For
Bringing the below skills and qualities will make it easier to succeed in this role:
- Degree (BSc and/or MSc) or equivalent study within Planning, Law, or other related technical disciplines, paired with a general interest in developing renewable energy projects
- 5+ years of work experience from the wind or the construction industry or similar fields of work within planning application and environmental permits work
- Proficient knowledge of MS Office tools (e.g., Excel and PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of the Korean offshore permitting regime and procedure and preferably other relevant experience with technical, certification, or HSE tasks
- Deep understanding of the Korean market, culture, and processes in the industry
- Fluency in English and Korean and excellent communication skills, enabling you to present complex matters in a professional and straightforward way
