OSS Electrical Lead Consultant Needed for Offshore Wind Consultancy and IT Company

The Role 

We are looking for an OSS Electrical Lead Consultant to join an offshore wind farm project in Seoul, Korea. You will oversee the HV/MV and LV electrical systems showcasing your comprehensive leadership in the successful implementation of offshore electrical systems. As a key contributor, you guide technical solutions, negotiate contracts, recommend project changes, manage interface actions, and lead engineering and procurement decisions within the project’s defined scope. 

What You’ll Do 

  • Design and Scope Oversight: Lead the design of HV/MV components, power, utility, and SCADA within the EPCI contract, ensuring certification. Simultaneously, agree on and evaluate the scope of work and responsibilities within HV/MV, LV, and SCADA, supporting clarification meetings with suppliers.
  • Project Oversight and Engagement: Ensure project adherence to timelines, scope, and quality standards while complying with project guidelines, standards, and local requirements. Lead project meetings with suppliers, negotiate contract variations, and actively contribute to project evaluation and lessons learned.
  • Support Function Management: Efficiently manage external/internal support functions, including the Owner Engineer and various engineering roles (LV engineer, SCADA engineer, HV/MV engineer, etc.). Ensure the proper handover of agreed documentation to O&M.
  • Coordination and Layout Planning: Coordinate the overall layout within a substation with the structural engineering manager. Manage interfaces for electrical works with other project packages and suppliers. 
  • Quality Assurance and Testing: Prepare a Quality Activity Plan for all HV/MV and LV deliverables (ensuring QA/QC of deliveries). Oversee all FATs and SATs of HV/MV, LV, and SCADA components. 
  • Collaboration and Commissioning Support: Actively participate in project team meetings, promoting cross-discipline cooperation and implementing best practices from technical departments. Additionally, contribute to the planning of site supervision and commissioning organization, offering support to commissioning and supervision staff. 
  • Contract Management Leadership and Negotiation: Lead the technical aspects of the contracting process and collaborate in the commercial domain alongside the Package Manager and Contract Manager. Additionally, engage in negotiating contract variations in partnership with the Contract Manager. 
  • Future Projects and Certification: Participate in design reviews of new HV/MV, LV, and SCADA equipment for potential future projects. Contribute to the certification process of HV/MV and LV equipment and design. 
  • Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Compliance: Comply with and enforce company HSE requirements/policy. Participate in HAZID and HAZOP workshops. 
  • Documentation Management: Prepare, update, and archive technical and commercial documentation. Follow up on progress and results from EPCI sub-suppliers. Provide input to various reports and controlling as required by the OSS PM. 

What Skills are We Looking For 

  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant electrical education, or a comparable field. 
  • Experience: Minimum of five years in a comparable position, encompassing practical and theoretical expertise in electrical HV/MV, LV, and SCADA components within onshore and offshore substations.
  • Proficient Project Engineer Qualities: technical proficiency, integrity, effective communication skills, adaptability, collaborative teamwork, sound decision-making, and strategic planning. 
  • Language Proficiency Requirement: Fluency in English and excellent communication skills, enabling you to present complex matters in a professional and straightforward way.
