We are proud to announce that LAUTEC has officially expanded its services into the biogas sector.
With active projects already underway across Europe, our GIS specialists are now applying their extensive expertise to support and accelerate biogas development.
As part of this expansion, we are working closely with biogas developers to identify available agricultural biomass, find suitable locations for new biogas plants, analyze transport and logistics, and review nearby areas where digestate can be used as fertilizer.
“We’re excited to bring our GIS expertise into the biogas space,” said Anders Pihlkjær, Head of Global Consulting at LAUTEC. “Our goal is to help renewable projects get off the ground faster and in the right locations – and supporting the efficient development of biogas is a key part of that effort.”
Standardizing Biogas Projects with WindGIS
In addition to supporting current projects, LAUTEC is also developing a new tool for biogas site screening in Denmark, based on our GIS platform. This tool will help standardize how developers find and assess potential sites, making early planning more efficient.
It will also be suitable for use in later project stages, enabling the screening of available biomass and digestate offtake capacity to support potential plant expansion.
“We believe that clear, reliable data is essential for speeding up the energy transition,” Henrik Iversen, Head of IT at LAUTEC said. “With our GIS platform, we want to make it easier for developers to make smart decisions from the start.”
With this move into biogas, we are continuing our mission to speed up renewable energy project development globally.
