South Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy (MOTIE) has awarded four offshore wind projects with a total capacity of 689 MW in its September 2025 offshore wind auction.
Out of six bidders, four projects received awards, according to the Korea Energy Agency (KEA).
The winning offshore wind projects are:
🔹Southwest 2 – 400 MW – Korea Offshore Wind Power
🔹Handong-Pyeongdae – 100 MW – Jeju Energy & Korea East-West Power
🔹Dadaepo – 99 MW – Korea Southern Power & Corio
🔹Aphae – 80 MW – CGO, Korea Electric Power, & Hyundai Engineering and Construction
All selected projects are fixed-bottom and will use 10 MW Doosan turbines, with the exception of Southwest 2. This project has stated they will deploy 10 MW turbines produced domestically.
